“St. George” or as he has become known, “The Dragonslayer” is a metaphor for the power and sacrifice of St. George, a Roman General, who was tortured and executed by Diocletian, the Roman Emperor of the time, 303 AD.
St. George defended the persecution of the Christians instigated by Emperor Diocletian in 303 AD and was subsequently tortured and executed for his beliefs. His story inspired one of the first books ever to be published in Europe called, “The Golden Legend”. Our musical is based on “The Golden Legend” but is a reminder of the power of faith and sacrifice. This recording was made at St Mary’s Church on the Strand in London, England with great singers and musicians and featuring Martin Crewes (Resident Evil/A Place to Call Home TV Sereis).
