Henry "Box" Brown Soundtrack by Mehr Mansuri and Cast

"Henry Box Brown" is a very moving musical written by Mehr Mansuri for the CTC (Children's Theatre Company). She wrote it to inspire African-American children and youth with the heroic story of Henry Brown, a slave who in the 1840's, took a huge risk and shipped himself in a box to freedom to a family of abolitionists in Philadelphia. It's a true story and the musical is a celebration of Henry's life and an amazing expression of the profound musical culture that the African slaves brought to America. Songs and arrangements by Mehr Mansuri, Eric Dozier, Frank Sanchez and Jeff Bolding. Recently performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
